| New Grad interested in OR I'll be graduating this May and my OR rotation was my favorite and I feel like that is where I'd most enjoy. I"m looking for thoughts on new grads starting in the OR; pros and cons. Both hospitals in my area have excellent orientations for new grads. Dixieleigh |

| See if the hospitals have an introduction to the OR class. I worked a hospital for a while that for $400, would let you come to class twice a week for 4 weeks srarting at 6PM, and let you experience the OR. They would teach you proper technigues, let you gown and glove your self and if you had a willing OR team, once you are proficient would let you actually go to the surgical field. Call the OR director to find out or contact the President of the local AORN chapter. PinkNinja ![]() ![]() |
