    Traveling with ProCare USA

Hello I am an LPN that is looking into traveling with ProCare USA. Has anyone out there used this travel agency and what was your experience with them? I am anxious to travel and just want some information. Thank you

    Re: Traveling with ProCare USA

Hi, I am new to this site and I am a new nursing student. I am writing a paper on Nursing Issues of Traveling Nurses. So far, this has been very helpful, but I was wondering if you could tell me other issues you have to deal with as a traveling nurse. I was told by my teacher that one issue is with drug abusers. Since they travel for short assignments, they don't get caught or they just keep moving around.

What are your thoughts? Any and all comments are welcome.

    Thanks

Did you travel with them. I have in the past. No major problems.

Just replying about the drug abuse issue with Travel Nurses.
Actually as a Travel Nurse (Psych) who moves around from company to company for Psych jobs I am thoroughly checked out each time. Background check, Urine Drug Screen, Reference checks,License verifications etc etc. There are all sorts of myths put out there by Non Travelers Staff or Management about Travelers. Not saying that there isn't a possibility of a drug abusing Traveler but not anymore than a perm staff RN or manager. Probably less because of the constant checks. Also I believe that anybody that can survive as a Traveler for more than 3 years is probably a great performer on the job. There's always exceptions to what generally happens and people will generalize these to the larger population to promote their own personal agenda. To learn about issues with Travel Nurses I would talk to current Travelers that have been doing it at least 3 years or more. I have a number of articles on my website that discusses a number of these issues as well as links to quality websites by other Travelers to get the real info.
