Hello,
I am interested in becoming a CRNA; I currently have an Associates Degree and don’t really know where to go from there. I keep trying to apply for a CRNA program but I keep getting disapproved and I was just wondering what is the best Bachelors program out there to get me on the right path to becoming a CRNA? And help or suggestions anyone can provide would be greatly appericated. Thank you!!

Different schools require different things... for example here are the requirements for Arkansas State University
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT:
Successful admission to Arkansas State University Graduate School.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a NLNAC or CCNE accredited College or University.
Current unrestricted/unencumbered (clear/active) license as a registered nurse in one of the states, or one of the protectorates of the United States, with eligibility for Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Missouri R. N. license.
A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on all undergraduate courses or 3.0 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate courses on a 4.0 scale.
Completion of a 3 credit hour graduate level descriptive and inferential Statistics course with a grade of A or B.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken within 5 years of application:
a. A combined score (verbal and quantitative) with a score of 1000 preferred. The minimum acceptable score is 900.
b. Analytical writing section must be reported.
A minimum of one full year of critical care experience in adult CVICU, SICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, CCU or ICU within the past two years. Trauma and other experiences will be considered on an individual basis. Operating room and OB experience is not accepted as critical care experience.
Three favorable evaluations/recommendations from:
c. Current clinical supervisor on recommendation form
d. CRNA, Anesthesiologist or RN
e. Academic faculty member familiar with your academic performance
Current ACLS and PALS certification.
Successful personal interview.
I would check out the college you where interested in going to then checking on the requirements it take for that particular program! *winks*

My first thought is find out why you keep getting disapproved. Once you find out why then work to fix the problem. You seem to already know that you need a BSN at least to go on to CRNA. I think that BSN degrees are pretty standardized across the country. I doubt you will find one that is better for moving on specifically to CRNA.Originally Posted by Meenies21
As was already stated, you will need at least a year of critical care experience before being considered. However, admissions can be competitive so it would be advisable to come to the table with more than the minimum requirements.
If you are accepted then be prepared for 2+ years of very intense study. This road can be very challenging, both academically and financially. Do not expect to work during school. You may be able to find an anesthesia group who will sponsor you in exchange for a certain commitment of time after school, usually 2-3 years. They may provide a living stipend and cover your tuition as part of the sponsorship. It would be a good idea to start networking and make contacts within an anesthesia group where you work now. Spend a day and shadow a CRNA. This can show purpose and serious intention.
