    My travel nightmares

Anyone else having any of the same issues? How did you resolve them? I'd love to put together a "Guide to Travel Nursing...avoiding the pitfalls that can be expensive"...

Here is my blog detailing all of the "misunderstandings" that I've encountered thus far as a travel nurse. Some expensive oversights on my part.

Nice blog design. I have a blog that discusses how to prevent the pitfalls and other topics.

Typical of American Mobile- I have not heard many good things about them. The most important thing when choosing a travel company is to do a LOT of research, and to find a recruiter you feel comfortable with. If a company has a bad reputation, there's usually a good reason for it. I have been traveling with RN Network for 2 years and have been very happy with them. PM me if you'd like my recruiter's contact info.

I thought it a little funny that you mentioned a guide to travel nursing since I am currently in the process of publishing such a guide. I was accepted by a publishing house, but will probably self publish. It should be out sometime in Jan 09. I will post more info on this board when it is out.

Something Amanda might find interesting is that I had been with RN Network for over five years. I was also flown out by Christian (former CEO) to do some consulting on the direction the company was taking. I had been an RN Network poster boy for quite a long time. Who am I with on my current assignment? American Mobile. Yes, I never thought I would say that again after leaving AMH about four assignments into my travel career. However, my recruiter at AMH got me $3 more an hour and $500 more per month (on housing subsidy) than RN Network could. This was literally on the EXACT same position.

I firmly believe that a good recruiter makes ALL the difference in the world.

I think you are right about the recruiter. My wife is with American Mobile and we have had no problems. I hope we don't. We shall see. I too have a blog but of different content then yours. You have a very well written blog. Give mine a look. TRAVEL NURSE BLOG Traveling Carruth's
