Want to travel- Can it work for me???
I am an ER RN looking to begin traveling- would like to start out with my 1st assignment in the San Diego area, but eventually go all over the country. I will not be maintaining a "tax home" so I will not be eligible for any "tax advantage" programs. Are there any travel companies that can provide ALL of the following:
-I will be traveling with my husband and my dog, so I'll need FREE private housing (by free, I mean free- not just money taken off of my hourly wage). Housing needs to be fully furnished.
-Free health insurance for myself, & INEXPENSIVE health insurance for my husband (>$200/mo. for my spouse)- Insurance should have LOW deductibles & low copays.
-Free malpractive insurance
-Travel & licensure reimbursement
-Top Pay- MINIMUM $30/hr.
So far, the companies I have talked to have been very misleading & very confusing. I have read so many places that travel nursing can be very financially rewarding, but have not found this to be true when speaking with recruiters. It seems that these companies are tailored for those who will be maintaining a tax home. I would really love to travel- there has to be a company that can provide these things & that will cater to someone who is not maintaining a "tax home." Anyone have any reccommendations as to which company would be the best for my needs??? Thanks.
