Police: Woman Impersonating Nurse Hired By Metro Hospital - News Story - KOCO Oklahoma City


EL RENO, Okla. -- A metro woman faces charges of false impersonation and practicing nursing without a license, days after she had been hired and then fired by an El Reno hospital.

Police said Jennifer Drobil claimed to have a nursing license from Michigan and said she was in the process of having it transferred to Oklahoma. Officials with Parkview Hospital said that the hospital hired Drobil, who claimed her maiden name was Hart, while her managers finished her background check.

"We began our background checks of her references and that kind of stuff. The preliminary ones looked OK," said Parkview employee Claudia Eaton.


Drobil worked with a registered nurse at the hospital to care for patients, including babies, for several days.

However, Eaton said the hospital grew suspicious about Drobil when investigators could not associate a nursing license to Drobil.

"The nursing license she gave us was not her. We found out it was another nurse in the state of Oklahoma," Eaton said.

Eaton said that Drobil had also given them multiple Social Security numbers and dates of birth for other people. That's when hospital officials called police.

When detectives met with Drobil, they said she admitted to finding the license number of another woman with the same name on the Internet. That's when the hospital fired her, officials said.

The Oklahoma Hospital Association has warned 125 hospitals within their group about Drobil.

Warrants have been issued for Drobil's arrest.
