    Family member RN has taken dilaudid from Hospital

    I recently discovered that a RN Family member has many investagations going on regarding narcotic use in multiple states. I really need help to figure out how I can help her or get her accept she needs help. My heart hurts for her. Please give me ideas on how I can approach her and what is available that might help regarding services

    As a happy grateful nurse in recovery I can say that the best thing you can do for your family member is what my husband did to me. Report her to the BRN If she does not get help ie enter a peer assistance program also called diversion in some states she will lose her license to practice. Think of how you'd feel if you found out a patient died because she was working impaired.
