    New to site

    Hi all! I am new to this site and just wanted to say a brief ****o. I am currently an RN in Home Health but considering a travel assignment. My husband and I are working snowbirds. The past 3 winters I have just transferred state to state with the Home Health company I work for now. My biggest concern with being a traveler is that I haven't worked in a hospital setting in 20 years. Are all traveler assignments in hospitals? Does anyone know if travel agencies have an orientation program to bring nurses up to speed on acute care?
    Thanks all,
    Jill

    Its very alarming and It’s no secret that the United States has a nursing shortage, one that promises to grow to alarming proportions. Too many nurses are retiring, and too few are entering the profession. To compound the problem, within the next 5 to 10 years, over 76 million Baby Boomers are scheduled to retire from the workforce, with only about 44 million Generation X'ers available to pick up the slack. This will soon place unprecedented demands for health care agency services / home care agency services on a system that is already stretched thin. The problem is not limited to hospital nursing. Today, there is also a critical shortage of nursing faculty. As a result, thousands of qualified men and women who want to enter the field are being turned away by the nation’s schools of nursing.

    And this can turn into a business opportunity for us, by having a our own Nursing Agency, wherein we dont have to be a nurse just to start this business. All we need is the desire to be self employed to be able to tap into this multi billion dollar business.

    Consider the following benefits of running your own healthcare business
    * Be Your Own Boss.
    * More Control Over Your Career .
    * Work From Home And Spend More Time With Family.
    * Set Your Own Hours.
    * Have Unlimited Income Potential.
    * Be part into this multi billion industry, where there will always
    be a shortage.

    I am also new to travel nursing and was wondering if anyone has any comments regarding Onward Healthcare? I am leaning towards this company but need to know others experience with them.

    Our many years of owning and operating a nursing staffing agency and private home staffing agency has given us the expertise and knowledge to help YOU start your own business.

    Bookstores and libraries are stacked with literature on the subject of home based business opportunities, but there is little if any information available on how to start your own nursing staffing agency or private home care staffing agency.

    Are you ready to start a nursing business for the upcoming million Baby Boomers? You don't have to be a nurse to start a Nursing Agency, Nurse Registry, Nurse Staffing Agency, Independent Nurse Contractor and more.

    Keep in mind that Nursing Business is the only industry where there will always be a shortage. There is never a fear for competition. Now is the right time for any ambitious entrepreneur to tap into this multi-billion dollar industry. Get our packages now and you can be in business in less than a week.

    There will always be work for nurses, both nationally and internationally, it's interesting to note that the boom sector in the nursing industry is
    actually in contract nursing.

    Casual nurses often have a high level of expertise obtained through working in different environments and dealing with a wide variety of situations. This makes them very adaptable and attractive to employers.

    While many employers are keen for the experience offered by the growing number of agency-contracted nurses, the attraction for the nurses themselves is also very appealing, with flexibility being one of the
    more important aspects.

    While most hospitals are often associated with nurses, there is also a growing need in the nursing sector in aged health care, generally
    in LTC facilities , and this isn't expected to lessen in future.

    Moreover, the simple fact that health care professionals are among the most highly sought after types of employee in the USA means they have a lot of say in where they work, what hours they work, and what shifts they will be doing. This is why they like to work for Nursing Agencies so they have more say in when they can work.
