Mother needs help- Lpn to RN program

****o everyone- i stumbled upon this page and thought this would be a great resource. My mother has been an LPN for about 12 years. She has always wanted to go for her RN but never had the time due to raising two kids and being a single mom. Now that her kids are all in college- i want her to go back to school for her RN. But she has no idea how to approach this route. She would most likely pursue an online course but was afraid that certain schools would not accept her college credit and thought it would take too long due to having to take courses over. Can anyone give me any advice or suggestions as to what approach she should take or which program would be best? Ive looked at the college network site but having no medical background I'm confused about which degrees to get info for. Thank you all for you time and advice!

I certainly understand how difficult it is to return to school once you have obligations and financial responsibilities and I applaud your mother's desire to do so! An accredited online LPN to RN, or LPN to BSN degree program is the best route to take-- especially these days when traditional brick & mortar campus based nursing programs are difficult to get into at all and usually have long waiting lists anyway dur to lack of enough nursing instructors!

Here's a helpful article about the online LPN to RN degree program -- your mother would probably be interested in the RN program rather than going longer for the BSN program-- but ask her!
