I don't know about the process you will have to go through but I wish you the best of luck.
hi
i am a rn who lost her license in 2004. i was caught diverting morphine in sept 2003. i have been diagnosed with depression since 1997 and severe job burnout.
i feel that i set myself up to loose my license. i could not walk a way from a job that i loved. i loved being a nurse and i loved the icu where i worked. this was not just a job but a family. in 10 years there where no turnovers. loosing my license was not has hard as loosing my nursing family.
i am currently on social security disability for my depression and i remain in cousenling. I completed a detox program in sept 2003 and rehab in dec 2003. i also attend na weekly now. i withdrew from the state peer assistance program and my license was suspended in sept 2004.
i am thinking about petitioning the state (virginia) for reinstatement of my license. i have been clean since i was caught in sept 2003.
has anyone here delt with virginia's nursing board? do you know of an attorney who specializes in reinstatement of licenses for health care workers?
I did admit my addiction to the board. i am following the steps. i continue counseling for my deppression. i dont know what the board expects me to do. i would appreciated it very much if you can share your experinces with these issues.
I don't know about the process you will have to go through but I wish you the best of luck.
