    Newbie

Hello All-- I found this site yesterday and it is great!! I am currently in school and am in my third quarter of seven.. Stressful to say the least. I struggle with the tests a little bit and am always on that edge. I am already getting some anxiety about being able to pass the NCLEX.. I have to take HESI in about 6 weeks and don't know how to prepare for it. My instructor told me they don't want us to study for it so they can see what I know.. That seems weird to me since I really need to pass!! Any insight anyone?

don't study for it lol, I'd let that go in one ear and out the other.

If you can get through nursing school you'll pass the nclex. It may be hard, and you may not pass it the first time, but you'll pass.

Just make sure you don't have to rely on that last test to pass. Make sure and do well enough on everything else that you can have bad test grades and be okay...but try not to have bad test grades

Glad to have you aboard! Tell your classmates

:luck: with it and keep us posted!

    Welcome to the site!

The test is alot like the ERI and/or NCLEX....basic stuff you've gone over, and already know. Don't sweat it, and you will pass! You ARE only half way through, right???

So, all how should student start preparing for the NCLEX? Should I start now by reviewing Kaplan test questions as I am going through my rotations as they relate to the quarter? or just wait?

    :welcome1:

Since, you are in your third quarter of seven I'd suggest backing off from studying for the NCLEX... for now. Now, concentrate on your test & clinical assignments. The nursing program I went through had a very high pass success rate on the NCLEX of former students.

In your last quarter is when you might want to focus on those NCLEX type books, which are nothing more than a collection of possible NCLEX questions. These books are good to familiarize yourself with the NCLEX way of testing.

Again, I'd say focus are you present nursing program. Your nursing instructors told you not to study for the HESI because they should already be preparing you for same within their curriculum.

    ... my 2 cents

    Re: Newbie

My perspective on studying early for the NCLEX is a little different.

As I was going through my rotations and lectures, I learned to look over corresponding questions in my NCLEX review books.

If you're studying cardiac, go to that section in your review books and the cardiac questions will help you "focus" on important topics.

I found that studying questions early on helped me do better on both my classroom exams, and my NCLEX when I was done with classes.

If time allows, I think studying NCLEX questions now will help you do better and focus on important topics throughout your nursing program.
