    Hi Monica,

Your email ad is compelling but inadvertantly (I hope) fails to address a large portion of the readership of this forum. Would you like to expand your sales potential? If so, think about designing fashionable scrubs for the outgoing MALE nurse. Just an idea

    Hi folks,

No, I don't know that many healthcare workers who wear S/XS- male or female and I don't know about jewels or eyelet lace either. My point- or challenge, to Monica was that her company could try to market "fashoinable" scrubs to men too. I think we all have an idea about what would appeal to sensible nurses of both sexes while being fashoinable. I can't see glitz but can see variations in cuts and styling that would make me look at different scrubs.

I'm a man with an athletic build and have had a very difficult time finding a scrubs manufacturer whose cuts fit me. Generally, I have no trouble buying clothes off the rack that fit well so I have to wonder if it's me trying to fit into clothes designed for a womans build or scrub manufacturers have no idea how a man is built. I've found that to fit at all well, I have to wear a different sized shirt and pant and have resigned myself to the basic V neck with a single pocket style but once in awhile, I get a shirt that has a pocket at the waist. I need an XL shirt for the shoulders and chest but it fits like a maternity top because my waist is smaller. The seat in XL pants is too long in proportion to the leg length- either the crotch is down between my knees or my calves are showing and the waist is hoisted up to my ribs. Although I still have to wear the waist high, medium pants fit a lot better but often are tight in the thigh. What do the rest of you say about scrubs? How many of you guys out there are happy with how they fit?

Ha my original thought was that they can't even design for women let alone men. LOL

And why do the scrub makers put fish on men's tops???? What is that?
I'm a woman and I'm not happy with how they fit me so I can see/hear your concerns.
I'm with you on the crotch thing too. I have a "mommy tummy" and need the rise. I can't wear petites because the rise is too short. I have to wear regular length because they are deep enough to cover the tummy. And then they drag on the floor. I just use silk tape to "hem" them .. Works pretty good.

These companies need to enlist some "real" nurses male or female as models. Don't make the uniforms and then look for people to sell them for you. Get your models first and then use real people to sell them for you. That might be a better mouse trap theory.

we wear ugly machine too gray/green scrubs but it doesn't matter what size you are if you're more then a medium you grab some out of the bin and one pair will be cut straight and long the other wider and shorter....I think whoever makes them just says ok I need 2 yards of fabric for this size I'll just cut it out and sew it up one will be so tight you can't sit the next will fall off all day.

I wish scrubs could somehow be made out of some sort of stretchy material without looking like pajamas- I have ripped the seams on at least 2 pairs of pants from squatting down- pretty embarASSing.. Personally, I think wearing scrubs with rhinestones & whatnot is like begging not to be taken seriously.
