Anyone worked in Oakland CA?

Hi,
I'm doing my first travel assignment. A job I'm considering is Kaiser in Oakland CA. I'm an ICU nurse. I've heard many things, bad and good, about the hosptial and city.
Is there anyone that can shine some light on my situation?

RUN!!!!! there are always openings at kaiser oakland because of it's location macArthur blvd!! you will be escorted by armed security to and from work. it is not good. south san fran or even san fran kaiser is fine. santa rosa is great (wine country). i grew up in oakland and wouldn't do kaiser oakland that is not good. do a google on macarthur blvd in oakland you will see

There's nothing wrong with this hospital. I use to work in quality and I'm also a Kaiser member/outpatient. I have had good experiences here with only one exception and that being one rude desk clerk. The hospital is within a block of the most expensive area called Piedmont. Everyone wants to reside there because the blvd is a popular walking city for locals as well as tourists.
