Medtronic 1Q profit disappoints JOSHUA FREED Associated Press MINNEAPOLIS - Medical device maker Medtronic Inc. said its quarterly earnings of $599 million were a disappointment and it cut its guidance because of weak sales of implantable defibrillators.
