Thread: Drug Diversion MA nurse

    Drug Diversion MA nurse

I'm a MA RN, BSN with a recent hx of drug diversion. Have been in 12-step program for over 21 years (no ETOH 21 years) but swayed away from program and started diverting. MA Board of Reg. in Nursing has a "one-size fits all" substance abuse recovery program. If I don't follow this program specifically as outlined, I automatically lose my license for 3 years. I'm very active in my 12-step program, have agreed to counseling but cannot afford the Intensive outpatient program they are requiring me to participate in. QUESTION: Does anyone have experience with this, with workign with the MA Board of Reg. and any referrals for legal counsel would be appreciated.

My intensive outpatient therapy was covered by a government grant. Maybe call around and see if there are any IOP programs that are covered and petition the board to attend that program. I hope you find something you can afford or will be covered. It is so expensive for me to be in TNPAP.
