****o. Just wanted to thank everyone in advance for considering my questions…
I am interested in getting advice on the advantages/disadvantages of becoming an RN or an NP. I plan on entering an accelerated BSN program for people who already have a non-nursing BA in Fall 2008. My dilemma is this: I am 28 and married and had hoped to start a family in the next 3 years. I do not plan to work full-time until my children are school-aged. The MSN programs are 2+ years, while the BSN programs are about 12 months (at least in the Philly area). I have heard that getting a part-time RN job is easier than getting a part-time NP job. So, if anyone has any advice for someone who wants a family and a career in nursing please send your suggestions.
Also, once you become and RN, is it fairly easy to go back and get your MSN to become an NP down the road?
Thanks again!
