Hi, I'm not a nurse, but I have a question that many of you might be able to answer. Is a nurse legally allowed to discuss a patients case, in an on line, message board setting? We've run into a situation, where a nurse has given her state and county of employment, she has described a very, very unusual case that came into her ER last week, and she discussed the symptoms and outcome. She did not give the patients name, nor the name of the hospital. No one seems to know if this was legal or not. Any help? If so, you can e mail me at lwrgrl@aol.com. Thank you.
