I worked at cal pacific and was housed about 2-3 streets north which is a nice area. My friend in the filmore center did not like it and said that it contained section 8 housing. That area is also not a very nice area.
I was told by my recruiter that i will probably be put up at the Fillmore Center on fillmore street when I move up to san francisco for my next assignment. I was just reading reviews on apartment ratings.com and everyone was saying it was dangerous and not a good place to live, so I wanted to get a travelers perpective. Kinda got nervous! Anyone work with American Mobile and get put up somewhere really nice that i should request other than this place???

I am actually with American Mobile and live at the Fillmore Center right now. I have been here since March. At first I didn't like it, but it is now growing on me. It's right in the center of the city so you can get just about anywhere in a decent time. Also, if you walk a couple of blocks up Fillmore it has really good restaurants and The Fillmore concert hall that has really good cheap concerts (everyone from the Grateful Dead to Jack Johnson have played there). There are better places, but it's not as bad as the reviews make it out.
