    New Student Nurse in Jersey

Hi, my name is Suzanne, I just starting my nursing course at OCC in NJ. I am in a One day a week program here, where our "lectures" are online...clinical labs one day...(12 hours).

Long story short, my degree (BS in physiology and neurobiology) is pretty useless without further education here in suburbanville USA. So going back for a nursing degree....very very very different stuff to learn so far!

    Thanks for this great board.

:waving: Welcome to the site, buttercup! Nice to have you with us. I hope you're doing well with all that snow out that way.

Sounds like you have a heck of a long clinical day; mine was 8 hours (except the last semester...)

Hope you continue to drop by and let us know how you're doing.

    Hi Suzanne,

You know, once you're a licensed nurse, you may find your old degrees will open some doors.

Maybe you could become a drug representative for a large pharmaceutical company. You could get a job for a medical equipment company doing inservices. You could work for a law firm doing malpractice case reviews.

Check out http://www.discovernursing.com for career options.

    The possibilities are endless

I'm a South Jersey RN, work in the Cherry Hill area.

Interesting program, what do you get when you finish? An AAS, another Bachelors or a Diploma?

They're coming out with so many new programs to make it easier to go to school for a nurse

The program is still only an Associate's degree program, but it prepares you to be an RN...so far the program has been very successful.

I look forward to the possibilities.
