    Where were you on 9-11-01?

I was employed as an OR RN [civilian] and was scrubbed in on a CABG. It was a surreal type mood with us concentrating on the procedure and at the same time someone coming in the OR with updates on the terrorist events. I was on break in the staff lounge watching television when the second tower was hit.

Watching financial news when the first plane struck.... switched to CNN and watched the second plane coming in and then stricking the second tower on live TV. Immediately realized we were at war.

Where were you & what were you doing when Sadaam's army rolled into Iraq? I was in the faculty lounge talking to the chief ER resident about the latest crop of newbies when I saw that going down. I remember telling Robert-- oh sh*t, just watch, we're gonna get sent on this one....

Sure 'nuf.... had orders 13 days later..

Are you referring to when George Sr. was the CinC? If so, I was a civilian [actually, a USMC Vet... ETS'd 1988 after 8 yrs AD] working on civilian & military aircraft contracts at E-Systems in Greenville, TX. During the 80's was the Cold War, but I came back into military service in 2003 for the GWOT!

My radio woke me up at 8:45 and I stayed in bed listening to howard stern on the local NY station and he said something about a plane in the WTC, they thought it was a small plane maybe.
    From there to CNN....
I live across the river and on our side by 11:00AM the roads were empty.

my wife and I were getting ready for the day. I was leaving for nursing school in about 20 minutes and my wife was blowdrying her hair or something and she was watching some morning show and she yelled at me, "OMG, you have to come here..." I ran over to the TV in our bedroom and we watched as the second plane hit the tower and then we watched for what seemed like forever.

    I'll never forget that day.

I was in high school taking a test. My friends told me after the test what had happened, but I didnt believe them at first. The school made an anoucement over the intercom and then we watched the news for the rest of the day.

I was in one of my college classes...the lecture ended shortly and on my way home I was listening to the news on the radio. I almost could not belive it was true till I arrived home and saw it on TV.
