| Super Moderator | AMA criticises nurse poaching (Australia) Tuesday, October 26, 2004, AMA criticises nurse poaching:"The Australian Medical Association (AMA) says the recruitment of foreign nurses is a short-term fix and should not be the main solution to addressing the current nursing shortage. Vice-president of the AMA Mukesh Haikerwall says instead of poaching nurses from countries like South Africa and Zimbabwe, more should be done to train nurses locally. "People are being recruited currently from countries where their services would be far greater of use and benefit," he said. http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems...0/s1228456.htm Andrew Lopez, RN http://www.nursingmail.com |
