    student curious about traveling requirements

Hi, I am a nursing student in South Carolina and new to the forum. I am interested in traveling when I get my degree. I begin clinicals this spring semester. I am wondering how transferrable my license will be from state to state. when a nurse travels to another state do they have to take the licensure test every time they change assignments? By the way I am very thankful to know about some of the bad experiences that some have had with traveling it makes me aware of the potential problems that i may have in traveling. Although it seems that a great many nurses really enjoy the constant change of scene, and I really want to see the country as I develop my career. I graduate in summer 06 with my ADN and plan to go out west and work while i obtain my BSN. any suggestions and advice would be helpful.
    Thanks Benegezzeret

Once you get out of school, you will need atleast one to two years on the floor before venturing out into the travel nursing field. If you're going into travel nursing, then you won't be making anymore money with your BSN than you will with a ADN, and you won't make any more money in ten years, except for cost of living raises with the nursing field. Spend this next year doing a lot of research, and you'll do fine.
