    Arrow EKG Technician?

I'm currently looking at my options for jobs I can get while taking my pre reqs and going to nursing school... The school I'm taking my pre reqs at offers an EKG Technician program in the summer for $600 plus book price, plus liscencing price... Is this worth it? It is cheaper than the CNA program they have, but I'm not sure how much an EKG technician would get paid or if I will have a hard time getting a job with that. I don't want to go ahead with the program and then still not be able to get a job!

    Re: EKG Technician?

Most hospitals have phlebotomists, respiratory therapists, or patient care technicians do their EKG's. Of the 12+ hospitals I have worked at, none of them had any Technicians who solely did EKG's. I think it would be more worth your while to get certified as a nursing assistant.
