| Why do you enjoy ICU? Hello!! I am an A&E nurse, (accident and emergency), and am considering a change of career to ICU nursing. I am soooo frustrated with working in A&E due to not being able to give 100% to my patients. I don't shy away from emergency situations or caring for those that are critically ill and I wonder if ICU will be the best move. I think it's the only area now that you can give 100% and 1 on 1 care, (in the UK anyway). Is this enough of a reason to want to start a career in ICU nursing or does it sound selfish? I wonder if you could tell me why do you enjoy ICU? |
