Kg based drugs??

I recently started working in the CCU and it seems as though the iv rates for most of the commomly used vasopressors/inotropic drugs are not MCG/KG/MIN. They all seem to be mcg/min..Ex.nitroprusside, dopamine and dobutamine.. Is this common in most critical care units?? Also are microinfusio pumps common?
