| Hearing back from nursing schools Hi, I'm new here! I am about to graduate from UT-Austin with a degree in biology, but then I'm going to nursing school to become a RN. Right now I'm waiting for acceptance letters and it is driving me nuts! I've only heard from two schools so far, Incarnate Word and UTHSC-Houston. I'm am waiting on UTHSC-San Antonio and it just seems like it should have come by now. Do any students out there know when they received theirs? I was rejected to Houston |

| Super Moderator | Re: Hearing back from nursing schools Depends on their criteria (usually listed in their program descriptions if you request them) and waiting lists. Most nursing programs are filling up very quickly these days. Waiting six months, a year or two for a slot is commonplace. I'd keep on doing exactly what you are doing. Apply to as many schools as is feasible and get your applications in early. Sooner or later a slot will open up for you. It might not hurt to get some experience early in the game by working as Certified Nursing Assistant or Unit Secretary. You might find these articles written by nurses of interest.
