| I am working 7p-7a at a small hospital. Our staff is great. We mesh well together and have great teamwork. On our days off, we are usually together going out and whathaveya...That said, recently a 10a-10p spot came open. My husband and I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to have a baby for the past 2 years, and I have a hard time transitioning from night to day, day to night. I told my coworkers when I started that once a day positioned opened, I was going to days. Now this shift is open and I told them I put in for a transfer. The guy I work with is fine. "You gotta do whats best for you", he says, but my good friend will hardly speak to me. She got teary eyed when I finally cornered her in the breakroom. She doesn't want me to go to another shift. Now it is sooooo tense at work. I have to walk on eggshells around her. How do I deal with this?

| Although I understand how your friend will miss you, a true friend would not put you in a position to walk on egg shells and you must do what is best for you and your family. With time, friend will realize if it were the other way around, it would be expected of you to understand and move forward.
