Stupid Nurse Calls

Some time ago Shortbus posted a Ask a Nurse forum and got chewed out by some one about trade mark usage. Well when I was in ER we never said ask a nurse. We called them stupid nurse calls. Some were intelligent but some would make you say, "hmmmmmmm".

What was your craziest nurse call?

Re: Stupid Nurse Calls

OK here is mine. Man calls ER 2am. Male intoxicated voice on phone crying, "My dog got bit in the head by a snake."
Me - "Sir you can take your dog to and emergency vet."
Man - "No, NO, NO you don't understand I was sucking the blood the blood out of the bite."
Me - "Ok sir, you still should call your vet or take him to an emergency clinic."
Man - "You'r not listening to me, my mouth is numb from the venom.'
Me - "Sir, you need to go to closet er if you feel this is an emergency."

1 hr later a hospital called, complaint of COBRA violation. Man that was sucking blood from a dogs head told staff that this hospital told man to go to their hospital. Explained to staff what transpired, they laughed wished he came to my hospital.

Re: Stupid Nurse Calls

there is no such thing as a stupid call, its the reciever dum enough to waste his/her time listening to that potential victim.
