Travel Nursing in Austin Area, etc?

Hello! I am new to the forum and seeking information about the Austin, TX area hospitals, especially wanting to know who or if anyone staffs the Seton hospitals. Any information about the hospitals in the Austin, TX area would be okay, too. Any places to stay away from/work for would be great! Also, has anyone had any experiences with Partnerships in Nursing or Travel Nurse Across America? Thanks!

My travel company is based out of Irving, TX. I'm not sure about the hosptials never been to Austin personally. sorry. But again my travel company I am with now is RN DEMAND. I work with a recruiter named Jay. He's awesome and very supportive. Give them a call, can't hurt to inquire.

I worked at South Austin for a year as a traveler. It was by far the best assignment of my life. The people were WONDERFUL! They never made me feel like a traveler. The St David Hospitals are all great. North and South Austin Hospitals were the best!

I am currently a traveler but have not worked in Austin as a traveler. HOWEVER, I did work as permanent staff in Austin for 9 years before traveling. Personally, I prefer the Seton Network of hospitals over St. David's. I like the clinic patient population and they are mostly at the Brackenridge Campus of the Seton Network. Most of the patient population there is Spanish speaking. As far as the City of Austin - what an AWESOME place. Always something going on and always something to do and see. If you get the opportunity to go there you will realy enjoy it!

Could you tell me who you traveled with? I was looking into NovaPro. Could you also tell me where they housed you, what part of town? Were the living accomodations nice? Did they pay well?

So Brackenridge is part of Seton? Is the pay good for a regular staff ICU nurse there? I currently live in PA and experience ICU RN's make around $28-30/hr. Is the pay similar for Austin? I can't wait to move.

I currently work for St. Davids HCA. The pay is not so great, but the people are very nice. Round Rock ICU is just starting a open heart surgery unit, its a good place to grow. North Austin Medical Center is a good size well established hospital.
