MMC is Magnet and has vehemently refuted every union attempt there.

SMMC has a ratio of 4:1 already on it's M/S floors and it's ICU has never had more than 2:1 if that. They aren't intrerested in a union either unless they speak Canuk....

BTW the Maine Nurses Union faction has already introduced ratio's. Cali, as usual, is three hours behind the times.

In 2000 there were 15,800 RN's in Maine. I bet not all of them are practicing. I know several who've retired but keep their licenses active just in case. The Maine Nurses Association has 1100 members. That means 6.9% of Maine nurses belong. Hardly a majority.

And CNA and it's affiliates have, what 77,000 RN's. BFD out of 2.4 MILLION RN'S in this country that comes to 3.2%. YAWN
