    Hello from..

.. Paris. I am a 25 yrs old French nursing student hoping to graduate in November and then move to MD or CA.
So I am trying to gather as much info as I can because I've hear tha being an RN in French is very different compared to the US.
I'm sure I'll get to hear a lot of information in here.
    Talk to you all soon

    Welcome to the site, moesha!

I would suggest contacting the MD State Board of Nursing Maryland's BON and the CA State Board of Nursing California State Board of Nursing for their requirements.

Good luck, and I hope you drop by often!

    Hello Moesha,

Do you know if you'll be able to sit for an American NCLEX exam and get licensed?

Often nurses that graduate in other countries need to go through rigorous testing in English and basic nursing skills.

You may want to stay in France and practice for at least a year before moving to the US. Otherwise, you may find yourself in limbo here for an extended period of time.

Find out now, what you'll need to do so that you can start working when you want to.

    Re: Hello from..

    Hi,

I've looked up for that already and I'll only have to take the TOEFL and N-clex, but I've been told I should wait for a year before applying. However I figured that by the time I get all the paperwork done I would already have at least a year of practice because I have a lot of things to gather.

I will check that website, it'll probably give me useful information.
