well, this has been interesting!

I have always talked to travelers at my previous job--I used to do agency and so I know what it is like. I had heard stories about staff nurses "sabotaging" others i.e. hanging wrong meds, changing drips, etc. I just would laugh and say that they were being paranoid.

So, I orienting to my new unit, a real backwards facility, just thinking that I may have lost my mind.

NO, I hadn't lost my mind (confirmed by some decent staff members). My preceptor had been in my room changing the rate on my drips and blaming it on me. Not once, but twice. And it goes downhill from there.

Am I dealing with a "borderline" nurse? I've never seen this before. It was the strangest thing I have ever encountered. I know I had upstaged her several times on policy, and EKG's, and pathophyz, but I didn't realize that it was that much of a big deal.

Anyway, I told the nurse mananger and happily resigned. I think that hospital should install surveillance in the rooms.

And I really felt sorry for my patients, most of all. May this nurse get everything that she deserves.

Any insight?

Re: well, this has been interesting!

definetly BORDERLINE.
it's very "dramatic" to sabatoge other people.
it's also criminal and ANTSOCIAL.
i would be interested to know how this person acted in general?
