Poor Me, Pour me something Pitty Party I broke my arm and have been home crippled and unable to perform my own ADL's since a fall on then ice Christmas Eve. I had worked so hard and so long then lost it all due to not finishing my 80 hours. I was so very hurt, in pain and so angry.. What's it all about anyway Alfie??? I have been so moody and depressed. I cry very easily. I am so glad to find this rubber rrom. A place to call my own. I really miss work and would love to get back to half of it.

Re: Poor Me, Pour me something Pitty Party I feel terrible for you. The only good thing about the situation is that perhaps this will give you time to write lots of post. I do so enjoy reading everything you write because it is so heart felt. Perhaps you have a true talent for writing and should take this time to start a book about a subject you know so well, nursing. One good thing about computers is that you can type on keyboards one handed. I hope freinds and family are pitching in and helping you with all your home duties.

Re: Poor Me, Pour me something Pitty Party Yes Friends and family are assisting, but I am so durn independent that The more they help the more miserable I am. I pray I am a better nurse than a pt. I hate needing the help. Thanks for the thoughts on writing. I have been thinking about starting a thing titled, The Mad Ravings Of a Obese (Uck!) nurse while trying to loose weight this new year. But the thought makes me so hungry.. LOL

Re: Poor Me, Pour me something Pitty Party Let us know about your progress Judy. We are especially interested in hearing how you manage when you return to work. Injury causes loss of strenght and mobility and dealing with that in high stress enviroment like bedside nursing can be hard.

Re: Poor Me, Pour me something Pitty Party They have let me come back to work light duty. You are right I can not believe how quickly I tire out. I just stuffed the mail boxes using mostly one hand with my right arm still in a cast, and had to take two breaks and broke out is an sweat. Did much better yesterday, but still was worn out today. Still and all I am so very glad to get out of my house and get back to work doing anything and seeing the staff again, I have formed bonds with. I really do like working, just wish it was always half as hard as It was pre broken arm.

Re: Poor Me, Pour me something Pitty Party Hi Sweetie!! I feel ya! Gettin' old is not fun. I have fallen twice and have developed heel spurs. I am onto the glucosamine/chrondrotin, ibupropen and sheer will to keep going. I am taking a good calcium supplement now and other than Mother Nature's weather fronts on the odd occassion; I am doing much better. I understand about the depression!! But...I just have to make one visit to a patient and I have nothing but praises for my level of health. Hey, but when you are having a pity party...no one else is invited, right?! Hang in there and know that whatever you do to help someone; it is valuable, and worthwhile. You are such a wonderful person and it shows. Chin up, chikie, and I am sure we will meet here again, LOL!!!
