Re: In or out of Nursing?

Dear shanemcmillian,

Good Heavens!

Please tell me you're checking on this BEFORE investing money on a nursing education!

As for whether the things you mentioned will block your entry into nursing, I can only answer with "It depends." What state do you live in and were these considered felonies or misdemeanors.

The easiest thing to do, really, is call the State Board of Nursing in your state (or e-mail them) and ASK! Every state is crying for nurses so, believe me, they're going to give you an honest answer to any and all questions on this subject.

Good Luck and please share the result of your query with us.

Dear mpicray,

Thank you for your suggestion. I did call the state boards and they suggested I feel out a pre approval (Declatory) or something. It was only charged as a misdemenor after alot of Bull****! I talked to a few people and they believe I will be ok. I am still going to send in that form, which costs 200 dollars. I will keep you posted on what they say.

Shane-

Excellent move - checking with the State Board of Nursing. If it was just classed as a misdemeanor, you're probably okey-dokey. It would just be an awful (and expensive) shame to invest money and hard study just to find out you can't get licensed. I will keep a positive thought for you. Hope it all goes well and you enjoy your studies.
