| Re: PLEASE help me! Long story short you have to go to treatment. not outpatient, no 5 days or something. I am talking a 28 day + kind of set up. This is number one, not only in the eyes of the bon but most importantly to save your life. Using dope on the job-Ive been there-done that for the better part of 13 years. I can't tell u how many of us came from step down tele units. It is kind of weird. Anyway, do not try and convince yourself that you can now do it on your own because that is bull****. Just getting caught is not what keeps us clean, it is the admission of total powerlessness over all drugs and alcohol. which means we cannot do just one of anything, we always want more. I wouldn't keep my hopes up about the hospital, they always say that to cover thier ass so that you cannot come back and sue them for discrimination. i have seen many a nurse that once she comes out of tx an has some time under her belt and is in the alternative program etc.. they go back to the job that promised them a job and on that very day they get fierd. Will they report you, yes. What will happen to your license i dont know but it will at least be suspended for a period of 3 months. during that time you must show you went to in patient tx, are going to na/aa mtgs, have a sponsor, start random drug testing, etc etc. Then you have to go to the board and kind of plead your case and hope to get the probationary status that required you to work while monitored but you cannot dispense drugs for at least one year. I would not recommend you go back and work on the same floor anyway. Trust me, you think you won't use again there? it is a lie, you will until you find the gratitude to be alive and to have the chance to have a choice today and have a daily repreive from active addiction. More later........ |
