Smile Was offered a home health job!

HI everyone,
Just wanted to post here and let you all know that with plenty of prayer and support, I have been offered a job through a home health agency. They know about me being monitored and agreed to work with me. I heard about the position from another nurse in recovery and I am so grateful to have a chance to be in nursing again. My counselor said that I will only be allowed a certain patient load to start, and I can make my own hours so it's very flexible. I just wanted to post some good news for those looking for a job, it will happen when the time is right!!

Thanks everyone for all your support and I'll keep you posted!

Re: Was offered a home health job!

Hi Alk,

Congratulations! I worked in home health for several years. I did both visits and extended hourly shifts in the home. Perhaps this realm of nursing isn't new to you, but if so, and you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer anyway I can. I liked doing the home care. I too received word that I secured a new job today! I was sweating a bit as I wasn't so sure how the background check would set with this company. I had told them about a dui I had in 08, but not the one I had in 03. Also, I have noticed since, and only since finding this site that many states automatically are wired to the BON one way or another...I had no Idea the impact these offences could have on my nursing license. or better stated, it never occured to me. Just goes to show how addiction truely places a haze on judgement and thought processes. I thoroughly get how the BON connects and becomes involved now.

Well, best of luck to you on your new job...
