Question Need Advice

I graduated from a technical school in practical nursing in May of 2006. It has been my life long dream to become a nurse. One month before graduation I got a DUI....The Idaho Board of Nursing finally came to the decision that I could take boards (which I did in December-and passed!!) on the condition I surrender my license and enroll in the program for recovering nurses. So since then I have been in the process of getting started in that program, some times I feel like giving up but I know I have to keep trying...I was wondering if any one knew once I get a restricted license and am able to work in Idaho, if I will be able to move to another state (any state other than Idaho) and still be able to do whatever program that state has and still work as a nurse?...I haven't even been able to work as a LPN as of yet but its getting closer. Any info would be helpful because as of now I'm clueless.

If you show that you are/have complied with the mandates, i don't see any problems. Check with the BON of the state you're transfering to.

Any other advice, folks?

Re: Need Advice

Definately find out from Idaho if they will monitor you out of state, if not, you won't be able to work anywhere b/c they will take action against your license for not completing diversion.

Do not give up! you have come this far. Most of diversion seems like it is to weed out the weak. With expensive ETG tests and alcohol counseling of course. Good luck!!!
