Exclamation Any advice for first interview for a new job?

Hi all,
I have an interview tomorrow and Friday for two possible jobs. As we all know, job interviews can be stressful but now I have the added pressure of admitting about my disease of addiction and that I'm being monitored through my state. Anyone go through this and have any advice on how to bring it up, if I should tell HR or just my manager, and how to relax a little? I feel like I will have a big Scarlet letter on me as soon as I admit this.
Thanks so much!
Amy

A lot depends on what you've already told them. I have heard it suggested that you do the interview based on you experience and accomplisments. There is usually a point in the the interview where they ask if you have any questions or anything to add. At this point you should state that you are a nurse in recovery and participating in a monitoring program. Steer away from the gory details and stick to the positives ie time in recovery, steps you are taking to maintin your sobriety etc...Do not lie if you are on probation your information may be a matter of public record. If your employer will need to file paperwork to your program it's only fair to tell them. If these jobs don't work out just hang in there continue to work your program and great things will come to pass.

Good luck to you

Peace and Namaste

Thanks so much Happy! That's what I planned to do. And I've been praying for self confidence and for God's will be done. That's all I can hope for. If this is not meant to be for me then it's not. I appreciate your response and I'll let you know how it goes.
THANKS!

I agree wait til the end of the interview. Most people will have already formed an opnion by then and then you have the best chance of telling them the truth and still getting the job. Most people know someone who have problem with addiction, keep it short and sweet , I agree don't expound unless asked. bb
