I am a member of this group and have been for a few months. It's really great. A lady in the area here gave me all of her nursing books! They are an edition older than the ones we use in school, but they make great reference books for me. I've also given away lots of furniture and clothes...I like it a lot!
In the process I think of selling my condo on the Maine coast...Does a mile away from the Big Pond count???
Advertised yarn and got over 50 e-mails...Be careful if you sign up for alerts as you get every posting...Whew over 200 e-mails today...God I'm tired of delete....But I think everyone has gone to bed so I'm safe for awhile....

Our list was pretty quiet until a few weeks ago...then the news did a story and we literally had over 500 new members in a matter of days. People are asking for cars, houses, you name it. It gets a little out of hand. I put one ad on there for a dog crate and got about 150 emails. After that, I decided that I would only reply to the want ads if I wanted to give something away, it is bound to pop up!
There are a LOT of emails. I use Outlook though and just created a folder for the Freecyle group and a message rule so that anything with "Freecycle" in the subject goes directly to that folder...that way I can check when I want...saved my life! LOL! It was taking over my inbox there for a while!
I use Yahoo and that airmail whoosh sound when I get an email is getting tiresome..LOLLL
But I'm cleaning house and it's a good service just the same..
Know anybody who's looking for a condo in Maine????

Thank you so much for that great link!! I am going to sign up now. I just thought I would come back and give you a hint. I am a member of many yahoo groups and it took me a while to figure this out. Go "Edit My Membership" and switch to get a daily digest. Then you might get two are three emails a day from the group but you might miss out on offers because it looks like stuff gets taken really quick!
thanks for the link I hadn't seen that before but I'm a long time coupon/refunder...have some great links for refund magazines if anyone is interested you can look at them online or subscribe to print issues.

The only problem with being on digest from this group is that if you are looking for something, it will be long gone before you get the email. I have emailed people a few hours after something posted and it's GONE. The things that I have posted usually went within an hour....
