I'm new to the forum and I think this is great. A place for male nurses to gather and confer....

I work in an ER as an RN and always get asked... "So, you're a male nurse?" or "What made you want to be a male nurse?" It's mostly the 60 and over crowed that seems to be confused. I think its pretty funny that none of the female nurses get asked they they wanted to become a female nurse.

But now I have a good come back. My wife found me an action figure to take to work to explain why I wanted to become a male nurse...

Who wouldn't want to be a real life SUPER-HERO that has his own action figure. Oh, the 70k a year for three days a week doesn't hurt either. I'll leave the 5-day a week jobs to the weak men that can't do a "woman's job".

Every male nurse ive worked with has been amazing.

When i was a student, my mentor was a male nurse, and probably the best nurse i know of- male or female.

I dont think there are enough male nurses, and i dont think they get enough praise.
