| Should i try and go find a job in the hospital before getting my degree in nursing? Currently, I am a student attending Akron University, and i am studying to become a nurse. I was wondering should I try and get a job somewhere in the hospital while working to get my nursing degree? |

If you worked as a part time (or relief) unit secretary it would give you plenty of exposure to such things as reading doctors orders, learning how to order tests, and seeing what actually takes place in a given unit. Whatever job you get would give you added exposure & experience that would benefit you in your future nursing career in some way or another, and nursing students could always stand to earn some money while in nursing school so go for it!

Do know how/where i can goto to get a job in the hospital? From what i heard, most people can only get a job through online paper work. If that is true, i think it would be too hard for me to get a job in the hospital....

Every hospital has a human resources department. Go to the hospital - find the human resource department, inquire about openings, and apply.

Go to HR at your local hospital to inquire about part time positions such as Ward Clerk, Clinical Assistant, etc. Be sure to mention to them you are a nursing student [or soon will be] and considering applying at this hospital for a nursing position near graduation.

Today I went to the Human Resource center at the Hospital, and they gave me a card to go apply online. I really hate applying online because I've never got a call back before.... And my resume isn't very impressive either, just factory work, and restaurant work....
