| The Saga begins: Today is my day to register for classes. I'll find out the good (or bad) news in about 1 1/2 hours. Bad news would be me having to take all 7 prerequisite courses. The good news is me having tested out of the 4 of them that we are tested on for exemption. Just found out that Louisiana has a pilot program for nurses going on at a few schools (mine is one of them), which will be rolled out at ALL schools that teach nursing. You first have to take six pre-nursing courses, plus orientation and computer fundamentals. You are allowed to test out of 4 of these, which includes the following: AlliedHealth Math AlliedHealth English AlliedHealth Science AlliedHealth Reading The ability to test out depends on ACT scores (i made a 31, but that was 10 years ago), or your placement scores on the COMPASS exam. If I did my calculations correctly, I should have tested out of all of them. I'm so nervous I could vomit..lol. It's been TEN YEARS since I've been a student. I just hope I dont screw this up. |
