I have wanted to be a traveler all of my 24 year career. Have been waiting till my children were grown. I am 50 years old with experience in numerous fields of nursing. My husband is going to retire and go with me. Before I give up my 'security' I want to be sure it is the right move...I will be wanting 'countrywide' and local assignments....I live in southern Indiana (Louisville, Ky area)......How can I make sure I am getting the right agency, benefits are important...Health Insurance and 401k,Housing etc. Anyone have any good advise or know which companies are good for my needs and TRUTHFUL...all the stuff I read just makes me more unsure......HELP![]()

Thank you, I will check it out
haven't worked for them myself, only know what I have seen from other, they don't pay as well as some, and are under the "umbrella' of a larger group, doesn't put nurses first.
Make sure you are getting a far shake on your houseing. Some companies are bad about keeping the biggest share for themselves. Remember, they work for you, make money off of you. Innovative placements has been good to me for 2 years, and pay 4-10 more than most others I have known people that worked for, on the same assignment. Larger companies are in it for their bottom line, not yours. Also you can get your per diems w/ you reg check, which cuts down on the amount of pay you are taxed on. Not all companies do that for you, a little extra work.
Good luck in you decision.

i have used 3 different agencies. i chose Intelistaff after doing research. get all the information they have and also call the better business bureau in the area of the headquarters, no matter what agency you choose.
I can tell you the recruiter or someone in the company should be available to you 24/7; remain in contact with you at least 1 time a week; and willing to listen and get you the assignment you want, not try to talk you into something they have just to fill the position.
I started traveling later after the kids were gone also so i was use to knowing what i wanted and where i wanted to go. my husband travels with me during the summer at no extra cost to me for the apartment
Good luck and dont be in a hurry to decide

I am doing an assignment in Lexington right now. I am on contract with Advantage RN.
So far I am happy, no complaints.
If you want my recruiters' #, PM me.
I'm very satisfied with him.
