I dreamed:
I dreamed that I could go to work, it was perfectly accepted and legal for me to just be hateful, rude, pick fights, setup a stage for my personal drama, and although I'm tolerable to my patients, I'm just downright B*tchy to everyone else! Then, mid day, I confess to my co-workers, "please look over me...I'm hormonal" insert sob sob cry cry. And like a support group for some dreaded disease, everyone starts popping out Motrin, hot towels, tampons, chocolate cookies and then we all get together and have a group cry.
This same support group is the one I've just been so durn hateful to.But now, alas, they're my best friends again. Then all together, like a scene from Michael Jackson's Thriller, we'd all creep up on the unsuspecting male nurse. One by one, we'd pick his work to death, glare at him. Afterall, with all of us swinging swollen angry ovaries, what's he gonna do?? EVERYONE knows that we get PMS..and it's ok, they understand. If they don't understand, then they are unsympathetic men and they should have their testicles cauterized completley off..slowly..one at a time.
And then, the next day..after the hunt... and the prey comes limping into work, ducking and dodging in case more sarcasm get's flung his way...
I smile!
HAHAHA! I bring him coffee even!! I ask him, how was his nite?? I laugh! I ask him to lunch?? And then, I notice he's very withdrawn and quiet and I see faint bruises on him. I have pity on him. He's my friend! Who would ever be rude to such a nice father, husband and caring nurse??
So I ask him, in my most HONEST words, from the bottom of my sweet, "never done anything wrong" heart, from the center of my female, nuturing soul...I ask him:
"What's wrong?? You seem so quiet today."

THAT my friends is the absolute, without a doubt,unquestionable WORST part of being a male nurse.
There..I said it.
