When's the wetting down party? take care, Jim
The only wetting down around here [no alcohol consumption allowed in Iraq... at least on our FOB] is the +1/4 mile walk from our tent to the DFAC. The wet being sweat with +120 degree temps, especially with IBA [Individual Body Armor Vest], and Kevlar, etc.

I'll let ya'll know when I get officially pinned [velcro'd, LOL].

Re: GRRR - The Gender Bias Continues

I have been an RN since 1980.

A few years back I sent in a resume to company based in the middle-east (the corporate office was in Canada) that was recruting nurses.
I got a letter back stating that the company does not accept men as nurses.
The original ad was in the 'official journal of the ANA', you know the one that is supposed to support and promote professionalism in nursing?

I sent my rejection letter to the Editor to let them know that they were accepting advertising from a company that was practicing gender discrimination.

I got a busque note back from the ANA Journal Editor that basically said: "We do not care about discrimination by our advertisers."

Hmmm, run it this way: What if I was Africian American (or chinese, or Japanese or anything else), got rejected by an advertiser because of my race and the Editor of the official ANA magaznine replied that: "We do not care if our advertisers discriminate against blacks"?

Sounds different doesn't it? Sure didn't feel different.

It sounds discriminatory to me no matter how you cut it.

Re: GRRR - The Gender Bias Continues

:hung: CUT??? Sounds like he got sliced and diced to me, then to add insult to injury the ANA put him in a blender bypassed puret and went for liquify.
and then:yikes:eeing: And here I thought they were on our side. :frustrated:
I truely feel your pain my friend we seem to be the only ones left they can slap around without getting into a world of hurt.:39:
The biggots are always going to find a new target. SO here is a new one for them:grits:get the point?

research survey on related topic

Hi everyone,

I've been reading many of these posts and have found them very interesting as they are directly related to a new study I'm coordinating.

I recently posted a new thread on this, but thought it couldn't hurt to share the link below on this thread that is so directly related to the things I'm measuring.

The study will take no longer than 10-15 minutes of your time. As noted in the consent form, the project has been approved by the IRB (Institutional Review Board) of the University of Texas at Austin.

Plese visit the following website to participate!

http://www.hostedsurvey.com/takesurv...?c=MaleNu91235

Thanks so much for your consideration and time..

If there is any concern or question about the legitimacy of this study (or me personally), feel free to send me an e-mail at aaron.rochlen@mail.utexas.edu or review my wesite at:

www.edb.utexas.edu/faculty/rochlen/ar.html
Take care - and thanks again for considering participating in this project.

Kindly,

Aaron Rochlen, Ph.D.
