| Career Change back to Healthcare Hello I was researching on a Career in nursing for men and stumbled upon the forum. I have always had a an interest in Healthcare and Nursing from at a young age. so much so when I was 19 I obtained a Diploma as a Medical assistant by graduating as the only male in my class. But after a debale with my school losing accreditation and meeting Obstacles from employers and a complete failure as a CNA. I fell out of the field. Now I am 33 and my interest in Nursing has been repeaked. Now I have many questions. Am I too Old? What level of Nursing should I look into? I have never had a Problem being Male in a Female dominated area. I have been the only man in many jobs. I have always wanted to help people and try to everyday. I am looking for advice on if this is a good field to re-pursue. I have done the research and know there is a shortage of good nurses. any help will do. |

| Super Moderator | Re: Career Change back to Healthcare Hello Norman, You're actually young to be going into it. Only 10-15% of nurses nation-wide are 30 and below. Most are closer to 50. We've had this discussion a few times, please visit: Career Change at Age 50 http://www.ultimatenurse.com/ubbthre...0/Number/13862 Is 37 to old to work on a nursing degree http://www.ultimatenurse.com/ubbthre.../0/Number/9115 Best wishes, Andrew Lopez, RN http://www.nursinga2z.com |
