Anyone have any experience with this company? I am new to travel nursing and currently am exploring my options. Thus far they have been the most outgoing and answered all of my questions but I can't find anyone who has had expereince with them.

Any other suggested companies as well?

Good Morning!

I used Medical Express on my very first assignment. Everything went off without much difficulty, with the exception of payroll. They did not tell me that the client company required all travelers to punch their time clock in addition to completing your time sheets. Beware! They will pay you off of the punch clock system from the client facility and not the time sheets you complete weekly. You can short yourself some pay if you clock out before 23 minutes after the hour at the end of your shift (or 8 minutes before at the beginning) perhaps losing an hour each day. Medical Express' parent company, American Mobile, had 8 other travelers at this same facility with me. We all discovered this problem 4 months (we renewed) into our contracts, and had shorted ourselves some money we didn't realize.

Be aware that Medical Express is a cog in a giant wheel with American Mobile. Many of their functions are centralized (housing, payroll). It takes a little longer to get results. I had a couple snaffoo's with payroll (neither were my error) and it took a lengthy period of time to work it out. My recruiter with Medical Express was inexperienced, and I was green too. Not a good combo. Make sure your recruiter has been doing this awhile. Sign up with three companies and compare. American Mobile and it's subsidiaries put me through a rigorous testing process up front that other companies have not. Something to consider. Hope this helps!

I started my travel nursing career with Medical Express. My recruiter is no longer there and she was great. My experience was good. They were efficient and got everything set up fast for us. We had wonderful housing, great pay, and good benefits. It was a very easy trasition in the travel nursing career for us, thanks to them!
