Where do I Start?

Hi! My name is Sara. I would like to be an RN eventually but would like to know if it is smart to get the LPN first & start working, or just go for the RN. Also, what is the difference between a 4 year degree & a 2 year degree(RN). And lastly, does anyone know where to get grants?

Thanks in advance for the info!

Re: Where do I Start?

There is lots of talk on this board about the differences between LPN & RN and 2 & 4 year degrees. Many hospitals offer college classes for employees. I got my 2 year paid for myself then let the hospital finish paying for the other 2 years. My hospital will pay for anyone to go to school. Check with college placement offices for grants avaible to you based on income, need, etc.
