Re: private duty rn salary I am a student in limbo, What is the difference in pay Rn vs LPN? I can't decide rather to go for two years for Rn or one year for LPN. To go to UPMC, I have to take algebra, chem and bio, because I have been out of school for eighteen years.

Re: private duty rn salary RN's the way to go.. I was an LPN for 17 years and it was the best thing I could do.. But I got tired of always hearing we were being phased out.. And I don't think they ever will be totally in my life time but just didn't want to take the chance. JMHO WR,,, three commas for Becca If it wasn't for the not knowing, if I was gonna be eliminated all the time I would have stayed LPN...Of course there are some places you don't have to worry about that. LTC but not my cup of tea.

Re: private duty rn salary GO be an RN! Its worth the extra year! My first year as an RN I made over 50K. It is definitly worth the extra year, job satisfaction, status and salary are a few of the benefits. LPNs are not as respected in the profession, and far less pay.
