Noob wanting help.

Hi,

I am wanting to becoming a Nurse, I am working on my English, maths & science. But I want to know some medical basics, like how to read vitals and other things like that.

I know to you lot i sound stupid, but I want a real head start at this.

Thank you!

The best way to get a head start on nursing tasks is to take a certified nursing assistant course. You can work as a CNA while you continue to take your prerequisites for nursing school. Having a CNA certificate is required by some nursing schools and other nursing schools will give you points in the admissions process. Look for a CNA course at your community college, adult education programs, the local American Red Cross, or at local long term care facilities.

Re: Noob wanting help.

Damien,

Welcome to the field of nursing. I agree that CNA training would be a great place to begin. Another option would be EMT training, especially if you like adrenaline.

Keep us posted and, good luck,

R

BTW: You look enthusiastic, not stupid.
